Pitmen Welcome Men’s Choir As Big Freeze Continues

Tuesday 22/01/2013

Hednesford Town Football Club are delighted to welcome the renowned Cannock Chase Orpheus Male Choir to Keys Park on Saturday February 9th, alongside guest soprano Sharron Burns, for what promises to be a hugely enjoyable night for Pitmen supporters and fans of the choir alike.

Proceeds from the evening, organised on behalf of the Chase Community Fund, will go towards providing grants and funding for community groups in the Cannock Chase area and chorister Brian Marks stated how much the choir are looking forward to the event.

‘It’s great to bring the choir to the Football Club at Keys Park and I’m sure supporters of Hednesford Town will help us in raising money for what is a really worthwhile cause.’

Their first concert of 2013 will start another successful year for the choir after they raised £565 for St Giles Hospice at their Christmas concert staged in Great Wyrley with St Luke’s Primary School choir last year.

Tickets for the evening are on sale now, priced at £5.75, and can be purchased by contacting Avril on 01543 684805, Brian on 01922 410209 or from the Hednesford Town commercial office on 01543 422870.
Further details of the choir’s concert schedule for 2013 can be found on their website: http://www.chaseorpheus.co.uk

Meanwhile, on the pitch, or not as the case has been lately, The Pitmen have seen their fixtures decimated by the freezing conditions with Tuesday’s game against AFC Fylde the third straight match to fall victim to the inclement weather.
Rob Smith’s side plan to travel to the Lake District as they face Kendal this coming Saturday but with further sub-zero temperatures expected supporters are encouraged to keep an eye on: www.hednesfordtownfc.com for further details.
