Nearly all the new faces that have arrived at Keys Park over the summer, along with those who have been retained from last season and a number of trialists, began pre-season training this weekend.
With less than two weeks until the first game when Rob Smith’s new look Hednesford Town team start playing matches again, they met up for the first time.
Thankfully for the players who were in attendance it was a rather cool morning weather-wise as they were thrown back in at the deep end after two months with no training in a team environment.
Saturday 11 July sees the Pitmen making the short trip to Walsall Wood for their first pre-season game, however there is plenty of running to be had before that with the manager declaring:
“You won’t need boots on Tuesday and Thursday, just bring your running trainers,” as the players get put through their paces.
We are set to find out our fixtures at the end of this week, with the National League North campaign set to be announced on Friday 3 July.
