Match Preview: North Ferriby United (H)

Tuesday 16/02/2016

It is a quick turnaround for the Pitmen as this evening we host North Ferriby United at Keys Park for the second of three games in a week.

Following the disappointment of Saturday’s result against Gainsborough Trinity, we face a Ferriby side in that are in the hunt for promotion out of the Vanarama National League North – where they currently sit in second place.

We shall also be looking to put an unwanted record to bed as well, with ourselves never having defeated the Villagers at Keys Park.

Over the years we have had a number of battles with Ferriby gaining the upper-hand on their trips to us, gaining five victories from their seven visits here.

Last season saw them gain a 3-1 victory, despite a Ben Bailey goal having put us into the lead early in the first half.

Meanwhile earlier on in this campaign, a late goal from striker Tom Denton denied us all three points after Kennedy Digie had scored his first goal for Hednesford just after half-time.

After suffering a disappointing defeat last time on our own patch, manager Frank Sinclair is looking forward to attempting to get back to winning ways.

He said:

“We now have a chance to respond to this with another home game and we know that we need to start picking up points.

“This is one of our games in hand on the sides around us and if we can get the three points then it will move us out of the bottom three.”

Sinclair will be able to call on the services of defender Jack Fitzwater after he served a one game ban, however striker Kyle Perry is still suspended. Andy Todd is also still missing after breaking his arm a month ago.
