Hednesford Town Football Club Manager Statement

Thursday 03/03/2016

Hednesford Town Football Club Chairman Mr Steve Price has today (Thursday 3rd March) made the following statement in regard to the managerial situation at Keys Park.

“After a great deal of thought over the past two days, I have come to the decision that the kneejerk reaction of accepting Manager Frank Sinclair’s resignation on Tuesday evening was the wrong one. Frank offered his resignation not because he wanted to leave the club, but because of the pressure that we were being put under.

“After making contact this morning we talked through what had happened since he was appointed manager and also about our conversation on Tuesday evening, we decided to have a meeting today to discuss the recent events and where he thought we had gone wrong since his appointment.

“The outcome of the meeting is that I have asked Frank and Chris Millington to remain in charge, they have agreed to do so, Frank’s desire to face the challenge head on was a major factor in my decision.

“There will be some true supporters who disagree with my decision and some who agree, all I can say to the real supporters is to let Frank and Chris get on with their job and give them and all the playing staff your support, this is my decision, any criticism of the Football Club and how it’s run should be directed at me.

“On the playing side there will be some new additions to the squad with immediate effect, they will be announced as soon as possible.

“Finally, I have asked Scott Smith to arrange an open meeting with the Hednesford Town FC Supporters Association and any other supporters who wish to come, where you can ask questions, vent your frustrations, directly to the people responsible for the running of the Football Club.”
