Pitmen Bring In New Striker

Saturday 11/06/2016

Hednesford Town manager Liam McDonald has moved to reinforce his striking department following the arrival of forward Jazz Luckie at Keys Park.

Luckie has most recently been at Redditch United, enjoying a good end to the season with them after spells with Stafford Rangers and Tividale over the course of the last couple of years.

McDonald was pleased to add a different option to his forward line following the signing of the 26-year-old.

He said: “I signed Jazz while I was at Redditch halfway through the season from Stafford Rangers. He was instrumental in that second half of the campaign for my former club, scoring a number of important goals. He is a quick, strong and streetwise boy who is very lively and sharp in front of goal.

“Jazz is very much someone I would say is an all round striker as he has everything, if the ball falls to him then you know he will put it away. While his pace and enthusiasm for the game will also be very important for us.

“He is also a player that will always give you 100 per cent; supporters will see that straight away and take to him for sure.”

Luckie, who has also played in the colours of Chasetown in the past, admitted he was looking forward to the challenge of the Northern Premier League.

He said: “I’m really happy to have signed for Hednesford , it is really good to be here and it will be a new challenge for me.

“This league will be a new test for me and that is something which I am also looking forward to.

“I worked with the manager for the last six months of last season and I felt that I did well with him. As soon as he mentioned about joining up with him again I wanted to take that chance.

“Supporters can expect someone who works hard for the team, has that flair factor along with the commitment and most importantly goals.”

As has been reported in other media outlets midfielder Sean Williams has decided to leave the club. We wish Sean all the best for his future career.
