Club News – Some Updates

Teamsheets

As always we aim to try and keep supporters up-to-date with the latest team news on a match day and have always done this through the supply of teamsheets.

This will continue once again this season although there will be a slight change to the usual format. We are now asking for a voluntary donation towards a teamsheet which will then be collated throughout the campaign and handed over to a chosen Club charity at the end of the season.

Although teamsheets were only located in the Club Shop for yesterday’s game against Whitby Town, in future they will also return to their usual place in the bar and also in the tannoy room for forthcoming games – with a donation box being placed alongside.

Squad Update

Just ahead of our game on Saturday we were pleased to welcome defender Kyle Rowley to the club, with him being named among the substitutes for the game against Whitby.

Rowley, 19, started his career with Walsall as he progressed through the youth set-up before signing first team forms. He has most recently been playing for our league rivals Sutton Coldfield Town.

Meanwhile striker Danny Glover has spent the last two games with Alsager Town, who are managed by former Pitmen player Michael Lennon, as he looks to gain some vital match fitness.

This has certainly helped the striker as he grabbed a hat-trick in his first game for Alsager on Monday evening.

Suspensions

We can also confirm that we were unsuccessful in overturning Jamie Matthews red card which he received against Ashton United last weekend after making an appeal to the Football Association.

As such he will miss the upcoming games against Halesowen Town and Belper Town after already missing out against Whitby Town on Saturday.

He will be joined off the pitch against Halesowen by Tristian Dunkley who serves a one game ban for his sending off last Monday evening.

Thank You

Finally we just wanted to thank everyone who took part in the #IAmTeamGB event during halftime on Saturday, which was fantastically co-ordinated by members of the Supporters Association – specifically Steve Williams and Paul Woodhead.

Throughout the day they, along with Miss Staffordshire Kym Jones, helped raise £305.67 for the Midlands Air Ambulance. Thank you to everyone who donated towards this tally.
