Hednesford Town 1-0 Mansfield Town

Tuesday 02/08/2016

Hednesford Town overcame a young Mansfield Town side thanks to a solitary second half goal from Tristian Dunkley.

The Pitmen were ready to face the full force of the League Two side, only to find out earlier in the day that it would in fact be an Under 21 side heading to Keys Park for the game.

This didn’t put Liam McDonald’s side off though and they could well have been ahead at the break on another day.

As the manager rung the changes at halftime and during the second period the home side continued to press towards the visitors and eventually found a breakthrough with just 12 minutes to go.

Striker Tristian Dunkley was able to beat two players before finding the back of the net for his first goals in Hednesford colours.

The Pitmen have just one final friendly left this summer when Rushden & Diamonds visit Keys Park on Saturday 6th August.

Hednesford Town: Ransome, Wright, Flanagan, McGrath, Mutton, Francis, Maye, A Trialist, B Trialist, Sammons, C Trialist
