Manager Calls on Missing Supporters to Return to Keys Park

Thursday 15/09/2016

Hednesford Town manager Liam McDonald has put a call out to fans that may well have missed the opening games of the 2016/17 campaign to come back to Keys Park this weekend against Ashton United as his side look to continue their move up the league table.

The Pitmen are averaging support of 417 so far this season from their five league games that have been played at Keys Park.

Although the Hednesford boss understands that some supporters may have reason to stay away, he has called on them to come back and give his new look side a chance to impress.

He said:

“Saturday is a big game for us and one with which I hope we have got as many supporters here as possible to cheer us on.

“I’m sure a few have been staying away because of what happened here last season but this is a brand new squad of players and if we can entice a few back I know that they will be entertained.

“This is very much a new era and the more fans that we can get here will help us make the ground a fortress.

“We haven’t lost at home in the league yet this season and apart from the FA Cup result, which was a blip, then it has been a fantastic start for us and I’d like to thank those fans who have given us their backing already.”

The Pitmen host Ashton United at Keys Park on Saturday with the game kicking off at 3pm.
