Match Preview: Leek Town (A)

Tuesday 13/12/2016

The Pitmen take are set to take a break from league action this evening as they travel to Leek Town in the Integro League Cup.

Our last visit to Harrison Park came all the way back in March 2008 when two first half goals from the home side proved to be enough to earn them a 2-1 victory.

Leek currently sit in ninth place in the Evo-Stik Division One South, having only tasted defeat three times in all competitions on their own pitch this season.

Manager Paul Casey is hoping to build on the recent good run of results in both league and cup.

He said:

“We’ve had a good week, winning three times and not conceding a goal during any of the three games that we have played.

“It is going to be another tricky game for us but hopefully the team will go out there and continue with the performances that we have seen of late.”

The manager is set to welcome defender Jim Mutton and striker Danny Glover back into his squad after both have missed the last few weeks with injuries.

Lewis Wright will miss the game though due to a troublesome knee problem.

The fixture kicks off at 7.45pm.
