Match Preview: Matlock Town (H)

Friday 07/04/2017

The Pitmen end a hectic run of home league fixtures with the visit of Matlock Town to Keys Park on Saturday.

We go into the game on the back of a mixed seven days, with us recording a good victory at Mickleover Sports last Saturday before a battling performance on Monday evening against Stourbridge was followed up with a disappointing result on Wednesday against Halesowen Town.

Our last game against Matlock Town came all the way back in November, with the Gladiators claiming a 2-0 victory on that day. Matlock arrive here on the fringes of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League play-offs with them looking to make up the three point gap in the final weeks.

The last game here between the two sides came over four years ago when a late penalty for the visitors saw them earn a share of the spoils as we played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Manager Gary Birch will go into the game looking for a response from his side following the Halesowen defeat.

He will have to check on the fitness of Remeao Hutton (knee) while Jordan Fitzpatrick (hamstring) could also be in contention again after missing a handful of games through injury in recent weeks.

The game kicks off at 3pm and Strikers Bar will be open to all supporters both before and after the match.
