Match Preview: Tamworth (H)

Tuesday 25/07/2017

Following a convincing victory in our first home pre-season game last Saturday, the Pitmen prepare to play host to Staffordshire rivals Tamworth at Keys Park this evening.

Hednesford are unbeaten in their last three pre-season games and this fixture will once again be a different test for Neil Tooth’s side.

The squad was yesterday boosted by the return of Ben Bailey to the club and he will be part of the team that takes to the field tonight.

First Team Coach Kris Taylor, said:

“Moving on from Saturday, Tamworth will be a side similar to ones that we are going to be likely to face in the coming season. Also you’ll probably see Tamworth going out there wanting to win the game for their own build-up to the new season, and as such this will provide us with another test.

“Fitness levels will be as strong and it is up to us as a group of players to show where we are at and give the supporters a taste of how far we have come.

“We’ve also made sure that we’ve signed players who we know are the right ones for the football club – ones that we know will give it their all and be the right fit for the team.

“Thanks again to Tamworth for bringing a team along for this fixture.”

The game kicks off at 7.30pm and Strikers Bar will be open to both sets of supporters before and after the game.
