Hednesford Town make the journey up the A38 tomorrow as we take on Mickleover Sports, aiming to get back to winning ways on the road.

Our record against Mickleover is a very good one with us having recorded four victories out of four in the matches that we have faced each other in – the most recent coming at the start of April 2017.

After suffering a defeat in midweek against Stourbridge, our hosts tomorrow currently sit in 19th position with 11 points from ten games.

Manager Rob Smith admitted morale was high in the camp going into this game.

He said:

“I thought we put in a really workmanlike performance on Tuesday evening against Nantwich, and deserved the three points.

“The players are working very hard and we now need to get on an unbeaten run. Our away form has been very disappointing and we know the challenge ahead is very tough on Saturday, but I feel the squad is coming together nicely, the spirit is exceptional in the camp, so we are looking forward to the game.”

On the player front Joe Ballinger and Luke Rodgers have decided to leave the club while Sam Oji has turned down moves to several other clubs in order to stay and fight for his place in the team.

The Pitmen can also confirm that attacking midfielder Jed Davies has signed for the club on a one month loan deal from Tamworth.

Davies, who starred for Romulus before joining the Lambs, joins in time to be in consideration for tomorrow’s game against Mickleover.

The game kicks off at the usual time of 3pm and we hope you can join us for the fixture.
