Hednesford Town manager Rob Smith has moved to strengthen his squad following the arrival of Tyler Weir from Worcester City.

The experienced 26-year-old left-back began his career at Hereford United, making his football league debut in May 2009.

Weir then spent two separate successful loan spells with Gloucester City between 2011 and 2012 before ending that year with a similar move Worcester City.

Worcester would make the deal permanent in the summer of 2012 before Weir made a switch back to Gloucester 12 months later.

After playing 20 games for the Tigers he signed a deal with Worcester for whom he racked up almost 100 appearances before joining the Pitmen.

Weir becomes the latest new face to arrive at Keys Park following the signings of Richard Platt and Callum Bullock on dual registrations on Friday evening from Gloucester and Chorley respectively.

All three will be looking to help the Pitmen get back to winning ways on Tuesday evening when Nantwich Town visit Keys Park.
