Match Preview: Tamworth (A)

Tuesday 24/10/2017

The Pitmen take a break from league action this evening as we make the short journey down the A5 to take on Tamworth in the Birmingham Senior Cup.

Our last competitive game at The Lamb came almost two years ago to the day when we narrowly lost out 1-0. Since that time we have played one other fixture, that being a friendly in the summer of 2016.

Manager Rob Smith has somewhat of a selection headache with him struggling to field an injury free XI, let alone a squad of 16.

Sam Oji, James Lawrie, Lewis Collins and Edji Mbunga are all ruled out due to injury and illness, whilst Darren Campion is also doubtful due to illness. Finally, captain Tom Thorley is also struggling with an injury that he picked up on Saturday.

Midfielder Jed Davies has returned to Tamworth after his loan spell ended in frustration after a niggling injury restricted him to just 45 minutes while Tyler Weir has also departed Keys Park with him struggling to travel due to living the other side of Worcester.

We would like to thank both players for their efforts while with the Pitmen and wish them well for the future.

The game kicks off at the usual midweek time of 7.45pm and we thank those of you who are making the trip to support the Pitmen.
