Match Preview: Lichfield City (H)

The Pitmen return home this evening as our attention turns towards the Staffordshire Senior Cup when Lichfield City visit Keys Park.

This game should have originally taken place a month ago but due to the heavy snowfall that affected the region it was one of three home matches that were called off during that week.

Lichfield currently sit in mid-table in Division One of the Midland Football League – with this fixture being the first meeting between the two sides.

City progressed into this round following a 4-1 victory over Brocton back in October and the winners of this evening’s tie know that they face a trip to Newcastle Town in the quarter-finals of the competition.

Meanwhile the Pitmen will be looking to extend their unbeaten run after claiming four league triumphs on the spin following an excellent 5-1 victory at Nantwich Town on Saturday.

Manager Rob Smith is set to have a pretty much full strength squad available to him for tonight’s game, although with a couple of players having had knocks in recent weeks there may also be some changes to the team.

The game kicks off at the usual midweek time of 7.45pm and Strikers Bar will be open to all supporters both before and after the match.

Admission Prices:
£7 Adult
£5 Concession
£2 Under 16’s
