Match Preview: Warrington Town (A)

Friday 19/01/2018

After a free midweek of action Hednesford Town return to the pitch this weekend as we make the journey to fellow top five contenders Warrington Town.

The Pitmen go into the game looking to extend their six game unbeaten run in all competitions, albeit against a Warrington side who recorded a memorable victory over National League side Ebbsfleet United in the FA Trophy during the week.

Our only previous trip to Warrington saw us lose out to a solitary goal, with Danny Glover having a late penalty saved back in March last year.

Manager Rob Smith was expecting a tough encounter on Saturday:

“We’re on a good run of form at the moment and I think having had a week off will have helped us as I thought last weekend we looked as if we had played a lot of games in a short period of time.

“I went to watch Warrington on Tuesday when they had a great result against a side two leagues above us. They are an excellent team and it will be another hard game for us – however we know if we go with the right application then we are a match for any team on our day.”

The manager is set to have a full strength squad available for selection for the match which kicks off at the usual time of 3pm and we thank all supporters who are planning on making the trip.
