Match Preview: Burton Albion (H)

Tuesday 13/02/2018

It is a quick turnaround for The Pitmen as this evening we take a break from league action when Burton Albion visit Keys Park in the quarter-final of the Birmingham Senior Cup.

We go into the game looking to make it a hat-trick of successes in this competition against higher league opposition this season having already seen off Tamworth and Solihull Moors in the earlier rounds as we look to progress into the semi-final of another county cup competition.

It was the Brewers who ended our run in the competition last season when they ran riot at Keys Park with us being defeated by a very experienced side 7-1 – something which we will be aiming to put right this evening.

Manager Rob Smith goes into the game looking for a response from his side after our 10 game unbeaten run came to an end last weekend following the 3-2 loss against Barwell.

It is hoped that midfielder Reece King will now be fully fit after suffering with an ankle injury in recent weeks.

The game kicks off at the usual midweek time of 7.45pm and Strikers Bar will be open to all supporters both before and after the match.
