Following the news that our league allocation appeal had been rejected we can confirm that striker Justin Richards has departed Hednesford Town Football Club.

The experienced striker, who agreed a deal with the Pitmen in early June, cannot now commit to the traveling involved in the Northern Premier League compared to that of the Southern League Central.

Manager Rob Smith, said:

“It is disappointing to lose Justin as he was a player that we had been chasing for a while and was going to add some great experience, strength and most importantly goals to the team.

“We totally understand his decision though, as he had signed when we were allocated a place in the new Southern League Central, and we wish him all the best for the future.”

A reminder that the Pitmen begin their pre-season campaign on Monday, 9 July, evening with a trip to Heath Hayes, 7.45pm kick-off.
