Hednesford Town and AFC Mansfield prepare to battle it out for the second time in a matter of days this evening when the Bulls visit Keys Park for this Buildbase FA Trophy First Qualifying Round replay.
After drawing 1-1 on Saturday, a game that saw both sides have chances to win it in the second half, the Pitmen go into the game wary of the threat that their lower league opponents can cause as we look to use playing at home to our advantage.
The winners of the tie know that they face a home tie against either Pickering Town or Droylsden in the Second Qualifying Round – with those two also set to replay this evening.
Manager Rob Smith is looking for a response from his team as they look to make progression in the Trophy. The Pitmen boss will be without Stef Galinski, Charlie Gatter and Matt Dodd while Josh Craddock will have a fitness test to see if he can be involved after being up all night due to a sickness bug. It is hoped that midfielder Jed Davies will be able to return to the squad after missing the last month of action – although this game may also have come too soon.
The game kicks-off at the usual midweek time of 7.45pm and we look forward to welcoming you to Keys Park as we look to make progression in this competition.
A reminder that the game will have to be decided on the night. If the score is level after 90 minutes then 30 minutes of extra time will be played. If the scores are still level after this then a penalty shootout will decide who progresses.
