Match Preview: Birmingham City (H)

Tuesday 06/11/2018

This evening the Pitmen get a chance to take their eyes off their league campaign when Birmingham City visit Keys Park in the Second Round of the Birmingham Senior Cup.

After reaching the final of this competition last season, Rob Smith’s side couldn’t have asked for a more difficult start to this campaign after being drawn against the full-time Blues Under 23 side who will no doubt be wanting to show they have first team credentials.

Manager Rob Smith is set to be without a number of first team players for the clash this evening with Jed Davies, Matt Dodd, and Stefan Galinski being long-term absentees while they have been joined on the physio bench by Osebi Abadaki and Callum Coyle – who both picked up knocks in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Bamber Bridge. Striker Dan Sweeney is also unavailable for the game this evening.

In order to boost their numbers the management team have moved to bring in centre-half Rudy Misambo from Stourport Swifts. The big defender lists Coventry City, Redditch United and Bedworth United among his former clubs.

The game kicks off at the usual time of 7.45pm this evening and we look forward to seeing your support at Keys Park.
