Match Preview: Whitby Town (H)

Friday 07/12/2018

Hednesford Town prepare to return to Keys Park tomorrow afternoon when Whitby Town visit.

Our visitors tomorrow sit one place and one point behind us in the league table with them having somewhat of a mixed record on the road with three victories, three draws and four defeats.

The Pitmen go into the game looking to record a league double over Whitby with us having recorded a 2-1 victory on the first day of September earlier this season.

Caretaker manager Francino Francis had these words ahead of the fixture:

“I want to assure you all that while I’m in charge at this football club I will do my best to get the right results and get the fans coming back through the turnstiles with a style of football everyone, including myself, will be excited about.

“At the moment the club is going through somewhat of a transitional period and all I ask is that the fans be that twelfth man. Let’s try and get Keys Park rocking again, like it did when I was playing in the first team – as that certainly makes a big difference. Please do keep encouraging the lads and get behind them in order to help us start climbing that table.”

The Pitmen go into the game still missing injured striker Lewis Archer – while Reece King serves the final game of his three-match suspension.

Francis will however have Jed Davies (suspension) and Matt Dodd (injury) available again after both missed out in recent weeks.

The game kicks-off at the usual weekend time of 3pm and we look forward to your support at Keys Park as we look to get back to winning ways on our own pitch.
