Match Preview: Witton Albion (H)

Friday 21/12/2018

Hednesford Town return home tomorrow afternoon when Witton Albion visit Keys Park for our final home game of 2018.

This will be the first time that our paths have crossed this season, with Witton currently sitting in 17th place with 23 points. They have however only played 17 league games so far this season due to continued runs in cup and trophy competitions.

The Pitmen go into the game looking to return to winning ways in the league after suffering three straight defeats – something that Caretaker Manager Francino Francis knows must change soon.

He said:

“I want to offer an apology to all those supporters who made the trip to Stafford Rangers last week. That performance wasn’t good enough from us and I certainly made sure that the players knew this afterwards. We shall be looking to put that right with a good performance on the pitch on Saturday.

“I’d also like to just make a plea to the fans to stick with the lads try and give them any encouragement that they can to give to them during what has been a difficult period for the club. Hopefully we can start to turn the corner on Saturday afternoon.”

The Pitmen will be without midfielder Josh Craddock through injury while defender Nathan Fox will undergo a fitness test due to a tight hamstring. We can also confirm that defender Reiss McNally and forward Jordan Clarke have returned to Solihull Moors after a short spell with us at the start of the month.

The game kicks-off at the usual time of 3pm and we look forward to welcoming you to Keys Park as we look to get back to winning ways in the league. Finally, we would like to wish all Hednesford Town supporters a very Merry Christmas.
