Experienced Midfielder Arrives At Keys Park

Wednesday 02/01/2019

Hednesford Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of experienced central midfielder Alex-Ray Harvey from National League North side Guiseley AFC.

Harvey, 28, has signed a contract with the Pitmen until the end of the season as manager Nicky Eaden continues to shape his squad.

Having been born in Burnley, Harvey joined the Clarets Centre of Excellence as a youngster before earning his first professional contract in the summer of 2009 – playing regularly for the reserves.

Harvey was loaned out to Fleetwood Town in March 2011 and again in August 2011 before initially joining Barrow on a one month loan in January 2012.

On returning to Burnley he was released in May 2012 and joined Barrow permanently in August 2012 – going on to make 214 appearances for them before making the switch to Guiseley for a fee of £10,000 in October 2017.

After making 37 appearances for the Lions in both the National League and National League North the Pitmen were quick to move after the midfielder became available.
