Match Preview: Hyde United (H)

Friday 01/02/2019

Hednesford Town return home tomorrow afternoon when Hyde United are the visitors as we look to build on our last two performances at Keys Park.

After putting in an excellent showing against Basford United in the league two weeks ago the Pitmen fought back against Aston Villa – only to be defeated late on – before we picked up a creditable point at Bamber Bridge last weekend.

Our opponents on Saturday currently sit in eighth place in the league table with 40 points from 28 games and we shall be looking to avenge the 2-0 defeat that they handed out in November. We did however play over an hour with ten men that afternoon after a Reece King red card in the first half.

Hednesford manager Nick Eaden was looking for his team to build on their recent performances as he looks to make it three games unbeaten in the league:

“Hyde have been a little bit like ourselves in some respects, picking up good results but also being a little bit up and down along the way.

“For us it is all about taking the positives out of the last two league matches and taking that into Saturday’s game. I felt that we dominated throughout the 90 minutes against Basford United last time and they took that into the game against Bamber Bridge.”

The Pitmen go into the game missing just Nathan Fox through injury with the defender having had a scan on a troublesome cartilage injury that has kept him out of action for five weeks.

The game kicks-off at the usual weekend time of 3pm and we look forward to your support at Keys Park as we look to get back to winning ways on our own pitch.
