Match Preview: Matlock Town (H)

Friday 29/03/2019

Hednesford Town return home tomorrow afternoon when Matlock Town visit Keys Park for the penultimate home league game of the season.

The Pitmen are currently on a five game unbeaten run, having won three and drawn twice to help us move within touching distance of safety – although they know that there is still some work to do to ensure this.

After scoring four last time out at home, we go into the game knowing that there is a potential for more goals with us having shared an entertaining three all draw at Matlock back in October last year.

Our visitors tomorrow currently sit two places above us in the league table, albeit on the same points with their goal difference being five better than ours. They do have three games to make up on us though.

Ahead of the game Hednesford manager Nick Eaden was looking for his side to build on recent results as he goes in search of another three points here at Keys Park.

He said:

“Looking back at the last couple of matches there has been some disappointment that we haven’t seen out both games to record three points, after twice giving away winning positions.

“We can’t lose sight of the fact that we are now unbeaten in our last five games though. However it is imperative that we return to winning ways soon as we look to continue our climb up the league table – starting tomorrow afternoon.”

The Pitmen go into the game having to assess the fitness of defender Jon Moran with the on-loan Chester man having been forced to settle for a place on the bench last weekend after suffering a leg injury.

The game kicks-off at the usual Saturday time of 3pm and we look forward to your support at Keys Park.
