Pitmen Look To The Future

Sunday 14/04/2019

Hednesford Town Football Club would like to announce that as of 2019/20 season the services of Stuart Harris and his team of coaches from Hednesford Town Newlands have been secured to lead the new Hednesford Town Junior and Youth project.

The move will see the club utilise a fantastic infrastructure containing 400 players and 75 coaches to grow the Hednesford Town name further. The youth section will provide football to children from the ages of 6-18 years – with a mini soccer section catering for the ages of 4-6 years soon to be added. All of the above players will be wearing the same kits as the first team – with the club being represented in all youth games.

This move is an important one for the club as we look to provide the next generation of footballers – with this being a culmination of work to secure a pathway into the first team by utilising our junior and youth football section.

Stuart Harris said:

“We have worked really hard over the last four years moving from one team to over 30 sides. We believe in developing players and coaches and have a really exciting program in place that will see a showcase game on Wednesday 1 may between our U16 and U18 elite sides. The game will kick off at 7.30pm and we would like to urge all to the fixture.

“Alongside the clubs Elite and BTEC program we are looking to create a reserve team which will play in the Midweek Floodlit League with games to be held at our fabulous Keys Park stadium. This will offer the existing supporters the opportunity to check in on our future players and track their futures into the semi-professional game”.

The original Hednesford Town Newlands teams will move across to form the Hednesford Town Youth Project and we are pleased to announce that’s we will be playing our football in the Midland Junior premier League and Walsall Junior Youth League.

As a club we also have a thriving girls football section which will continue to provide an excellent service in our pursuit for our first Hednesford Town Women’s team.

If you would like further information joining any of our sides or coaching staff please make contact with the club by either calling 01543 422870 or by emailing office@hednesfordtownfc.com.
