Interview with Louis Ezewele

Sunday 09/06/2019

New Pitmen defender Louis Ezewele talks about his hopes and influences ahead of the new season.

Joining the Pitmen.

“I’m really excited for the new challenge. It’s obviously a big club in the non-league scene. I want to show everyone what I can do to help the team be back where they should be”.

“I know Ben O’Hanlon; we were at Wolves together when we were younger for a few years. I also know Matt Curley from when we were at Tamworth together”.

Other clubs.

“Before Hereford FC, I was at Tamworth for a few seasons and had a spell with Redditch, I have also had loans at Rushall Olympic and Halesowen Town”.

Biggest influence.

“Probably my brother to be honest. He also plays football so we are always pushing each other on. We are both pretty competitive so we always want to do well”. (Louis’ twin brother Josh, also a defender, plays for Alvechurch FC).

Greatest ever player.

“The greatest ever player in my opinion is Lionel Messi, no one comes close to what he can do with the ball. My favourite defender is Virgil van Djik. He is quick, strong; he can read the game really well and is very good on the ball. So yeah, he has all the attributes every defender dreams about having”.

Next season.

“I want to play as many games as possible; I just hope I can add quality to the team to help us be successful. I’m still young so I think I can still develop parts of my game and hopefully be able to do that here”.

“Hopefully, we will be up the top end of the table. I think with the squad the manager is putting together we could definitely be up there, challenging for promotion”.
