Manager Gary Hayward has moved to bring goalkeeper Daniel Platt to the club from Halesowen Town FC. Having been at the Grove since 2015, Daniel is a much respected and popular player amongst Yeltz supporters, who is vastly experienced at this level with over 300 games to his name. Daniel, a former Crewe Alexandra apprentice who made his debut for AFC Telford as an 18 year-old, will bring stability to the goalkeeping position after numerous players filled the role last year.

James Hurst has also agreed terms for next season. The highly rated right back previously made around 30 appearances for the Pitmen in the Conference North during the 2014-15 season. After beginning his career at Portsmouth, he has also represented West Bromwich Albion, Blackpool, Shrewsbury Town and Birmingham City in the Football League. James’ footballing journey also includes three spells in the Icelandic top flight and non-league experience with Torquay United, AFC Telford, Dover Athletic and Wrexham. James ended last season at Sutton Coldfield Town.

Matt Curley returns from last season’s squad having originally signed from Tamworth in November 2017, he re-joined the Pitmen towards the end of last season after a brief spell at Halesowen Town. Matt, a right back, is a versatile player who can operate in midfield and has filled in occasionally on the left. He has previously enjoyed spells playing at Romulus, Rugby Town, Chasetown and Sutton Coldfield Town.

Gary Hayward is pleased to get these three players in as he continues to assemble a strong squad for the 2019/20 season. All at Hednesford Town FC wish Daniel, James and Matt a successful stay with the club.
