Hednesford Town v Needham Market (H)

Thursday 29/08/2019

The Pitmen will be looking to continue their good form, following three consecutive wins without conceding a goal, as they meet Needham Market for the very first time on Saturday. The Marketmen are currently in 14th place after beating Leiston 3-0 in their last outing.

Manager Gary Hayward stated:

“I was happy with the way the lads dug in against Tamworth, a game played in difficult conditions to come away with all the points. I am really pleased with the lads and the results are coming together. We will need to maintain our high standards this afternoon to get the result that we want.”

Tom Elliott took a knock against Tamworth but should be available for selection. James Hurst, Jack Hallahan, Billy Daniels and Ben O’Hanlon are still out through injury while Joey Evans has made his loan move to Barwell permanent.

Ahead of the game Gary wanted to thank the fans for their support so far this season:

“I want to give all of the fans a massive thanks from me, Wardy and the whole squad from 1-16. We know that you spend your hard-earned money coming to games, I want you to enjoy your day and the players want to win for you. The togetherness with fans is amazing and makes a huge difference; it’s how we react when things don’t go so well which is just as important. At the end of games we have two minutes in a huddle, when I talk to the lads, then over to the fans – I want us to be like a family!”

Kick-off is at the usual Saturday time of 3pm.
