Stourbridge FC v Hednesford Town (A)

Friday 16/08/2019

The Pitmen‘s BetVictor Southern Premier Central campaign continues on Saturday as we travel to the War Memorial Stadium to renew acquaintances with Stourbridge FC, who we last met in the 2018 Birmingham Senior Cup Final, with the Glassboys narrowly winning 2-1.

Stourbridge have made a good start to the season with wins against Stratford at home and away at Hitchin Town, while the Pitmen look to bounce back from the unlucky defeat at Coalville Town last Tuesday evening.
Gary Hayward reflected after Tuesday’s game:

“The lads were very disappointed after the game, as with Lowestoft we had plenty of chances, enough to win the game and we need to be a bit more ruthless. Coalville’s manager said to me after the game we were good for at least a point. Sometimes it’s just not going to happen but we will keep going”.

On the injury front Billy Daniels is recovering from concussion, Ben O`Hanlon has a fractured heel bone and James Hurst’s recovery continues, all three are unavailable at the weekend.
Gary Hayward added:

“While it is disappointing to be without three players, we had a good training session on Thursday night and the lads will be up for it on Saturday.”
