England trials for three Pitmen.

Tuesday 15/10/2019

Hednesford Town are extremely delighted to announce that three players have been invited to trials with England schoolboys this weekend at St Georges Park. The trio are Carter Lycett, Ollie Waddison and Josh Lewis.

Left back Carter (17), already with England caps to his name has featured in the Pitmen squad this season.

Ollie (16) has also made an appearance from the bench for the first team, is a quick attacking player with a lethal left foot.

6 ft 4 Josh, also 16, is vice-captain of the U-17s managed by Jaspa Jones and is a central defender. Josh has previously been at Aston Villa and has had trials with Fleetwood and Grimsby.

Jaspa explained; “It is a huge credit to the lads that they have earned this chance and it is a massive source of pride that Hednesford Town, a non-league club, is producing players of this calibre from it’s youth set-up. Hednesford really is the place to be for up and coming youngsters who want to firstly develop themselves as footballers and then go on to make a name for themselves in the game.”

Everyone connected with the club would like to wish Carter, Ollie and Josh the best of luck and we look forward to their seeing them progress far in the game.
