St. Ives Town v Hednesford Town (A)

Monday 09/03/2020

Following on quickly from Saturday’s win at Redditch United, Hednesford Town are on the road again, travelling to Cambridgeshire to face St. Ives Town in the BetVictor Premier Central League on Tuesday night.

Following the 1-0 win against Redditch, joint caretaker player-manager Ben Bailey said; “It was an important win, we have put in some good performances lately and not had the wins we deserved. A few weeks ago we might have lost that game. Rhys (Thompson) has done well with the goal and given us energy in midfield. It is a long trip to St. Ives on Tuesday we need to get there, put in another good performance and get the job done.”

The Ives have been struggling of late with only two wins so far in 2020, the last time out they were on the receiving end of a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Royston Town. St. Ives occupy the final relegation place and are currently four points adrift of safety, some 24 points behind the Pitmen in 14th place.

There are no new injury worries for the Pitmen and Ben O’Hanlon is available for selection once more following a one match ban.
