Glover Agrees Pitmen Stay

Friday 22/05/2020

Hednesford Town Football Club are delighted to announce we have come to an agreement with striker Danny Glover to stay with the Pitmen for the 2020/21 season as a player as well as joining new manager Andy Morrell’s backroom team.

Danny, 30 and in his third spell with the club, took on the role of caretaker manager last season during the takeover talks and Andy Morrell was keen to ensure he became part of the new look Hednesford Town management whilst also retaining his services as one of the league’s most dangerous front-men.

Last season was cut short of course by the Coronavirus outbreak with Danny on 19 goals for the season and his commitment and love for Hednesford Town have been evident throughout this uncertain period in his conduct both on the pitch as a player and in his new role as player/assistant manager.

Danny said “I can’t wait to get going in my new role as well as still trying to score goals for Hednesford Town, the new owners are determined to bring a positive future to the club and I want to be part of that. I’m looking forward to learning from Andy who is an excellent manager and also as a forward played in to his 40’s so hopefully he can help me prolong my playing career as well!”

Danny’s career is well known to the Pitmen faithful having played a key role at clubs including Port Vale, Worcester City, Stockport County and AFC Telford United and we look forward to seeing him back scoring goals at the PRG Stadium in the new season.

UP THE PITMEN!
