End of Season Awards 2019/20.

Wednesday 17/06/2020

Although the season was cut short in unusual circumstances, Hednesford Town FC are now delighted to announce the results of the End of Season Awards.

The Supporter’s Player of the Season Award was awarded to Danny Glover in a season where he led the way with goals and steadied the ship with a spell as joint caretaker manager.  The Runner’s Up award was deservedly shared by Ben Bailey, Sam Griffiths and Osebi Abadaki who all received an equal amount of votes from the fans.

Sam Griffiths was awarded the Manager’s Player of The Season for his consistently high and versatile performances in the Pitmen defence. On winning the award Sam commented; “I am very happy to win the award as it’s nice to know you’re doing the right things and working for the team as best as possible. I’m raring to go for next season, it has been a difficult period for everyone in all walks of life and so to get playing and mixing with the lads will be great for me personally. We will give the fans something to look forward to again, got a good feeling about the season ahead with the new regime, so bring it on, UTP!”

A hugely deserved and popular choice for the HTFCSA Supporter of the Season was Colin Woodward, for his immense contribution to Hednesford Town in many different roles from Vice Chairmen of the Supporter’s Association to his matchday duties in the club shop, regular contributions to the programme and much, much more.

Danny Glover‘s status as a Pitmen legend was confirmed as he was awarded the remaining trophies; Player’s Player of the Season, HTFCSA Player of the Season, The Sportsman of the Season (The Sue Pitt Memorial Trophy) and the Travel Club Player of the Season.

On his haul of awards Danny commented; ” I would like to thank everyone for voting for me, it is really appreciated. Also thanks to everyone so far who has volunteered in helping to improve the ground. I went down yesterday and it is coming together brilliantly, their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. I can’t wait to get going and I’m really looking forward to working with and helping Andy put out a team that everyone can be proud of.”
