Griffiths stays with The Pitmen

Thursday 11/06/2020

Hednesford Town Football Club are pleased to announce that defender Sam Griffiths has agreed terms with the club for the 2020/21 season.
28 year old Griffiths is in his second spell as a Pitman and is a favourite of supporters thanks to his hard work out on the pitch every time he pulls on the shirt.
Sam began his career as an apprentice with Wolverhampton Wanderers before moving on to London club Brentford FC, which included a loan spell at Carshalton. Sam then made his way into non league football joining Braintree Town, before making the move to our local rivals Stafford Rangers where he spent 4 successful years winning player of the year awards before he joined the Pitmen for the first time for what was only a short spell. He then moved to Halesowen Town but happily for the Keys Park faithful he returned in 2019 to Hednesford Town.
Sam’s signing continues the work being done on the first team by manager Andy Morrell with Sam having offers from a numbers of clubs at our levels however to use his words “Its exciting to be at the club with the changes and I’m looking forward to being here for the season ahead”.
