Hadland departs Keys Park

Sunday 04/06/2023

Hednesford Town can today confirm that assistant manager Guy Hadland has departed the club on medical grounds.

Guy, 44, arrived at Keys Park as Danny Glover’s assistant manager last season and very quickly became a very popular character within the club. Unfortunately Guy was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the end of the season and has been undergoing treatment since.

Chairman Hayden Dando said “ working with Guy last season was an absolute privilege, his knowledge and passion for the game are unrivalled but as a man he was first class, during tough times he never once shirked the challenge and on behalf of everyone at Hednesford Town we are fully behind him in his battle right now and he will always be welcome at Keys Park”.

Danny Glover added “ I knew when Guy came in what he could bring, I had played with him and he was a warrior and then the job he did at Barwell was incredible over the years however he gave me and the club even more than I expected, in my first managerial job there is nobody I could have wanted more than Guy in the trenches with me, I want to thank him for everything he did for me both at the club and away from it from the bottom of my heart”

A man with a huge character and we are all behind him at Hednesford Town in his battle and we thank Guy for everything he did during his time at Keys Park.
