Player Profile

A product of the Wolves academy, Melbourne joined the Pitmen for a third time in June 2017 after a spell at local rivals Stafford Rangers.

Adaptable player who can play anywhere across defence or midfield, Melbourne joined Wolves as a teenager and made progress through the club’s academy, signing up as a first year professional in the summer of 2008.

After being released by Wolves in the summer of 2009, he went to Football League sides Port Vale and Exeter City on trial but eventually returned to football with AFC Wulfrunians, where he ended the 2009-2010 season. Linking up with Rushall Olympic on the eve of the 2010-2011 season he very quickly established himself as a fixture in the side before the Pitmen snapped him up.

After signing a new deal for the 2011-2012 season, Melbourne made a u-turn two days before the start of the campaign by joining local rivals Chasetown. After just a couple of months with the Scholars, Melbourne made the move back to Rushall.

Re-joined the Pitmen in June 2012, being part of the Pitmen’s successful play-off winning side. After a spell on loan at Stafford Rangers and Rushall Melbourne joined local rivals Stafford on a permanent deal in July 2015. After enjoying a memorable first season a long-term injury saw him out of the second campaign. In June 2017, he made the switch to Keys Park to link up with Neil Tooth and his new look squad.
