Player Profile

Popular defender and youth team graduate who rejoined the club in July 2017 after a season with AFC Telford United

After a consistent season for the youth team in 2007-2008, he was given the opportunity in the first team towards the end of the campaign before again being part of the squad the following season.

Bailey continued to grow in status during the forthcoming campaigns, although he did spend some time out of the team with two loan spells at Sutton Coldfield Town.

Ben’s long service to the Pitmen continued in 2012-2013 after he agreed a deal to stay at Keys Park for a sixth season in June 2012. This was to be a watershed in his Hednesford career, as he helped the club to promotion and swept the board at the end of season awards, winning the Supporters, Supporters Association, Players and Managers player of the year gongs.

His reward for a superb campaign was a new contract to tie him to the club becoming the club’s longest serving player in 2014, agreeing a new deal to extend his stay at Keys Park into a seventh season.

Bailey’s superb form at the heart of the Hednesford defence was rewarded in February 2015, as league sponsors Vanarama named Bailey as the league’s player of the month for January 2015 with his consistency recognised at the end of season presentations, as he swept the board across all awards to end arguably his finest season at Hednesford to date.

The summer of 2016 saw Bailey making the hard decision to leave Keys Park and sign for AFC Telford United. However just 12 months later he was back at the club after deciding to sign for Neil Tooth.
