Popular defender returns to Keys Park

Sunday 31/05/2015

The Football Club are pleased to announce that defender John Disney has today made a return to Keys Park having signed a one-year contract.

Disney, who spent two seasons at the club after signing from Northwich Victoria during the summer of 2012, was instrumental in helping us to promotion on that memorable day in May 2013 against FC United of Manchester.

The right-back followed this up with an impressive season during the 2013/14 campaign which saw Rob Smith’s side reach the Conference North play-offs.

During that summer the chance of full-time football saw the 23-year-old making the switch to Chester before he ended the season with AFC Telford United – playing a number of games in the Vanarama Conference Premier.

On the signing Smith said: “We are really pleased to have signed John Disney. When we found out that he hadn’t signed for Telford we were quick to take advantage.”

Disney will be a welcome signing for Pitmen supporters, with him being very much a fans’ favourite from his previous spell with the club.
