Hednesford Town manager Rob Smith has moved to strengthen his squad with the signing of former West Bromwich Albion defender Callam Mendez-Jones.
The 21-year-old was a product of the Baggies youth academy, and although he didn’t make a first team appearance at the Hawthorns he did play in the Football League during a loan spell with League Two side Accrington Stanley in 2016.
Mendez-Jones has also represented England at under-18 level and goes straight into the squad for this evening’s Integro League Cup tie against Newcastle Town at Keys Park with a 7.45pm kick-off.
