In the last couple of weeks the management team of Rob Smith and Larry Chambers have been working hard speaking to last season’s squad and also a number of other players – as has been seen with recent news – as they build their squad for the forthcoming campaign.

We are now in a position to provide an update on some of last season’s players.

The first update we can bring you is that striker Danny Glover has departed the football club. Due to the league restructuring it would be increasingly difficult for Danny to commit with the travelling involved. The striker, who notched 29 goals last season and over 50 for the club in 150 games, leaves with everyone’s best wishes and we thank him for his efforts while at Keys Park.

We can also now confirm that full-back Darren Campion has left the club, this being due to work commitments which will impact on his availability.
Meanwhile midfielder Louis Harris has decided to move to Dubai.
Again we thank both of those players for their efforts and wish them well for the future.

The Pitmen will retain the services of goalkeeper Jose Veiga who, as well as providing back-up to James Wren, worked in a coaching capacity over the last 12 months. We are hopeful of being able to announce more squad news in the coming days.
