And we’re live!

Wednesday 01/02/2012

After a number of months of designing and developing, if you hadn’t already noticed, our new website has now launched!

While the old website met the basic criteria of a football club website (i.e. latest news and upcoming fixtures) the Supporter’s Association targeted the creation of a new website some months ago with the aim of building on the club’s growing web presence and provide fans far and wide with the information they’d want to know.
With that in mind some of the new additions with this new website include:

Squad – One of the things that was missing on the old website was a player profiles section. This new site provides a brief playing history (though some of our more experienced players push that a little!) as well as stats for the current and previous seasons that they have played for the Pitmen.

Stadium – The stadium page is where you can find information on the facilities available for fans (both home and away) on matchdays and also how to get here. For away fans making the trip to Keys Park, there is the option of getting Google Maps directions from their postcode. We’re working on creating a guide to the area for away fans so they can soak up the local history and cultur…okay, find the best pubs within stumbling distance.

History Archives – While obviously the focus of everyone associated with the football club is the present and future, we do happen to have over 130 years of history that most non-league clubs would love to be able to claim. At launch the archive hosts information on the 3 stadiums the club have called home in that time, our league, FA Cup and Trophy history and a look back to some of the finest hour..and a halves we’ve had.
This is certainly something we will be expanding on in the coming months as we aim to create an online “museum” and we’ll be putting in requests for help in achieving that aim.

There are also links to other Hednesford Town websites, including the Youth Team and the Community Programme that will continue to grow in 2012 and beyond.

But, as with all good websites, this launch certainly isn’t the end of its development and we’ll continue to add features and functionality throughout this and future seasons. If there is anything that you the fans would like to see on the website, feel free to get in touch at admin@hednesfordtownfc.com.

We look forward to hearing your feedback on the new website and hope you enjoy it now and in the future.
