Fan power to get Keys Park match ready

Friday 21/12/2012

The club would like to thank a number of true supporters and match day staff, Phil Raybould, Ken Leese, Shane Duggan and Richard Wale for giving up their valuable time today to service the Keys Park floodlights.
The efforts of these fans have put the floodlights back into almost 100% working order and will make a huge difference for the forthcoming matches.
The heavy rain of the last few days briefly subsided today and the pitch is currently in good order. However, the forecast is for more rain from the early morning onwards and, as Blyth Spartans have to make an early start on their journey for tomorrow’s match, we have scheduled a pitch inspection for 8.00am in the morning.
If the pitch is passed fit to play but the rain continues as forecast, we may put out an appeal for fans to come and lend a hand (and pitchfork) to try and assist groundstaff to clear any lying water on the pitch, in advance of the match referee’s arrival at around 1.00pm .
Watch this space for further details.
