Pitmen Trophies On Parade At Presentation Night

Tuesday 14/05/2013

Hednesford Town Supporters Association Chairman Scott Smith has given an open invitation to all supporters to join in the celebrations at the Keys Park outfit’s Presentation Evening on Friday where the Birmingham Senior Cup, Staffordshire Senior Cup and the Play Off trophy won last week will proudly be on display.

A range of other awards will be given out during the evening to the players, staff and supporters who have worked so hard to ensure the 2012/13 season entered the record books as one of the most successful in The Pitmen’s long and distinguished history and Smith hopes many fans can attend.

‘This season has been so exciting and, with our victory against FC United of Manchester confirming promotion to the Conference North, it gives the supporters a great opportunity to celebrate with the players.’

The Goal of the Season will also be chosen during the proceedings with all present having a vote after watching the shortlist on a big screen.

Entry to the event is free of charge and will start at 8.00pm with doors opening at 7.15pm. All who are thinking of attending are asked to arrive early though following the highly successful season which the club has enjoyed.

The Pitmen’s equally successful Youth Team will also be parading their Midland Floodlit Northern Premier League and Staffordshire Midweek Floodlit Youth Cup trophies with players who weren’t presented with medals on the day of their triumphs rightfully receiving them on the night.

The U21’s will also be in attendance including specifically those that have featured in the first team

Club Secretary, Terry McMahon, stated how proud he was of everybody at the Club who has worked so hard this year to bring such success to Hednesford Town and praised the supporters for their help in pushing the players towards their Play Off final glory.

‘We really have had a superb season, both at Youth and First Team level, and without the help of the numerous volunteers and supporters this amazing year would not have been possible. Friday night is a chance for the Club to show their thanks to all the people involved and it will no doubt be a great night.’
