Management team to stay on at Keys Park

Wednesday 29/04/2015

Hednesford Town Football Club is delighted to confirm that Rob Smith, along with Larry Chambers and his backroom staff, have agreed to continue their reign at Keys Park.

Smith, along with the support of Chambers, Chris Brindley and Steve Wynn have brought numerous successes to the club since they arrived at the club in October 2010.

Overseeing four successive play-off campaigns, promotion to the Conference North, two County Cup victories and a League Cup triumph, they have helped the club to become settled at Step Two of the non-league ladder.

Following a meeting with Chairman Steve Price, the manager had this to say: “We have verbally agreed to another two years here at the club.

“I have enjoyed my time here and continue to like it. From the reaction which we have had from the Chairman and supporters during what has been a difficult campaign it made us want to stay.

“If you look at it now though it is probably going to be the biggest challenge which we have faced since we have been here.

“We are going to need to rebuild the squad and without a doubt the league will be the strongest that we have known it.

“Now the real work starts. Larry and I have already been out every night speaking to new players and we will be doing that each day until we have who we want here.”

Smith, along with members of the first team squad from the 2014/15 season, will be in attendance at the end of season Presentation Evening on Friday 8 May, 7.30pm start in the Chase Suite.
