Hednesford Town return home tomorrow afternoon after an extended break from action at Keys Park, with Marine set to visit us.
The Pitmen were last in action at home all the way back on 22 January, while the last league game came three days prior to this as we defeated Basford United. A point on the road at Bamber Bridge and a narrow defeat at Warrington Town have followed.
Tomorrow’s visitors are currently top of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League form table after seeing a brilliant turnaround in form since the turn of the year and we will be expecting another tough encounter as we aim to stop Marine from completing a league double over us following their 3-1 victory back in September.
Ahead of the game Hednesford manager Nick Eaden was looking for another competitive performance from his side.
“What has been important for me is that, apart from the Scarborough game, we have had some real tight fixtures. We’ve also been in all of the games that I’ve been in-charge of and have created chances – especially in the last three league matches.
“It is all about us being competitive and I want us to take that into Saturday’s game once again. It may sound obvious but as a manager I go into every game looking to win it. For me if you aren’t going into matches trying to get the three points, whether you be a manager or player, then there really is no point in turning up.”
The Pitmen go into the game able to welcome Nathan Fox back into the fold after he returned to the bench last weekend and trained all this week following a six-week injury lay-off. We can also confirm that defender Lance Mayo and striker Ashanti Pryce have both departed the football club over the course of the last week.
The game kicks-off at the usual weekend time of 3pm and we look forward to your support at Keys Park.
