Hednesford Town will make a 360 mile round trip to Suffolk on Tuesday night to face Leiston FC in the BetVictor Premier Central League. Ian Cornforth has stepped down as manager of The Blues following their 8-0 defeat at the hands of Bromsgrove Sporting, as the club remains rooted to the bottom of the league table.
Ahead of the game Pitmen manager Gary Hayward had this to say; “We have got three away games in the League in a week and this is an important phase of the season for us. I was pleased with the first half performance at Sutton Coldfield Town on Saturday which sets us up in the next round, it would be good to get a home tie otherwise we will go through all of November without a home game. Again we are playing twice a week and with a lot of travelling we need to keep our focus, do things the right way and keep in mind that there are no easy games.”
Sam Griffiths will be unavailable for Tuesday’s game, a late decision on Ben O’Hanlon’s fitness will be made while James Hurst is likely to make a return to action. In other squad news goalkeeper Andy Wycherley will stay at Keys Park for the rest of the season.
On the squad Gary added; “We have got Jack Chambers in on loan from West Brom, he is a good footballer and had a couple of nice touches when he came on as a sub on Saturday. He is highly rated and we will see how he gets on. I have to decide which players make the matchday squad and this depends on a number of things; the system we are playing, current form and who is doing well in training. I have to have the right players on the bench for the way we are setting up and that will mean people missing out on the matchday squad.”
Admission; Adults £11, Concessions £8, Students (with ID) £6, U16s £2.
