Hednesford Town are proud to announce that Sam Paddock has agreed to join the Pitmen for the 2023/24 season.
Paddock, 20, began his career here with the Pitmen as part of the superb academy side that won two titles in two years including an unbeaten ‘Invincibles’ season in Sam’s final academy year.
Operating predominantly at centre back Sam then began the season with in the North West Counties league however after half a season made the move to Midland league Wednesfield where aged just 20 he captained their side.
Sam, who hails from Cannock, joined the Pitmen on trial during pre season and immediately impressed in the games against both Stourport and Rushall and manager Danny Glover was pleased to sign the defender saying “ firstly it’s brilliant to have someone who came through the academy at the club because he really does love the place, I could see how proud he was to start on Tuesday against Rushall and playing against high quality step 2 footballers Sam performed very well, he has really impressed us all with his maturity and confidence whilst also being so keen to keep learning, he has a winning mentality above all else and that’s something that can’t just be trained so we are really excited for the season ahead for Sam”.
Welcome back to the Pitmen Sam!
