A MESSAGE TO OUR SUPPORTERS AND THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

Sunday 06/08/2023

As we approach the first game of the season on Saturday at home to Trafford Hednesford Town are appealing to the clubs supporters and the community around Hednesford and Cannock Chase to come down and get behind the Pitmen next saturday for the first game of the season.

During the summer it looked like we were going to lose our football club which saw the local community devastated at the idea of losing The Pitmen, we then saw some fantastic pre season attendances and the club want to appeal to its community to get down to Keys Park on Saturday as we start a season that might never have been.

Chairman Hayden Dando said “Honestly i cannot tell you how happy we have been with the pre season attendance at Keys Park, that first friendly against Rushall to have over 700 on a Tuesday night was amazing and vindicated the hard work that the volunteers, Danny, Terry and everyone else at the club has put in during the summer. i’ve got to add the support we have had from sponsors has been amazing as well When i took the club on i said i couldn’t afford to do it on my own and that still very much stands, this club needs strong match day attendances in order to ensure it’s future in the short term as well as to make it attractive to a future buyer to show just how much potential this club has. Gloves and Craney have worked so hard this summer putting together a squad of players who truly want to be at the football club and are proud to represent it, i am proud of what they have done and i implore the supporters of this club as well as the people in the local area to come down to Keys Park on Saturday and get behind YOUR football club. In return i promise to do everything i can each and every day to repay that support and i know that i can say that on behalf of everyone at the club, Up The Pitmen”.

Manager Danny Glover added “ For me and Craney the support pre season has been fantastic it really has, we really need the supporters this season so let’s keep the superb support going and we will give you everything we can on the field”.

Club Secretary and General Manager Terry McMahon said “For my part the club has made enormous progress over the last couple of months and we are ready for the challenges ahead. I have been here for a long time and i know how much this club means to its community so whether you are an old face who hasn’t been for a while or you have never stepped foot through the Keys Park turnstiles come down to us on Saturday as we cannot do this without you”.
