Hednesford Town FC Ladies Announce New Management Duo: Laura Hodgkiss and Jared Hodgkiss

Hednesford Town FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Laura Hodgkiss and Jared Hodgkiss as the new management duo for Hednesford Town FC Ladies.

Laura will be our new manager and Jared will take up the role of assistant manager.

Laura, and Jared, both local to the area, bring a deep commitment to Hednesford Town FC and extensive professional experience from both the men’s and women’s game. They aim to combine their knowledge and skills to benefit Hednesford Town FC Ladies and match the club’s ambition. Jared will also contribute as the coach of the Development squad.

“We are excited to work closely with the players, staff, and supporters to achieve success on and off the pitch,” Laura and Jared stated. “We look forward to the season ahead and the prospects it holds under the new ownership, which has already begun to instil a strong sense of community. Hednesford Town will continue to grow and achieve great things. We invite all fans and supporters to join us in supporting both the Development squad and the Ladies, and we look forward to seeing you all at the games for what promises to be an exciting season.”

Laura Hodgkiss has a distinguished background in women’s football, having played for clubs like Arsenal Ladies FC and Fulham Ladies FC, where she was one of the first semi-professional players. She represented England U19s before transitioning into a teaching career. Laura is a sports massage therapist and an Associate Professor of Sport, currently serving as the Head of Sport at a university.

Jared Hodgkiss brings a wealth of experience from an illustrious playing career that includes stints in both the English and Scottish Premier Leagues, representing clubs such as West Bromwich Albion and Aberdeen. He has captained several teams, notably leading Macclesfield Town to promotion from the National League to League 2 in 2018. Jared transitioned to non-league football before retiring early to embrace this exciting opportunity at Hednesford Town FC.

Andrew Reed, Director of Football, expressed his enthusiasm: “I am delighted to have Laura and Jaz in the building to help grow our already successful women’s team. They have both achieved a lot in the game, and this is a signal of intent from us all at Hednesford Town FC. We are building something special at the club with a one-club mentality, bringing the women’s team together in line with the men’s teams and matching the ambition. I believe the women’s team will continue to go from strength to strength with this management duo at the helm. Special thanks must go out to Alicia Balies, Laura Sears and Pete Neale for their recent success, culminating in a league and cup double last season. They have created a fantastic platform for the women’s team, and we are very grateful for it.”
